Where To Get Money When You Need It (And Where Not To)

Money is one of those things that you just can’t live without, unfortunately. Those that do live without it tend to be homeless and hungry. Some people are good with money and some people aren’t.

If you aren’t that good with it, and you need money for an emergency, you may find it difficult to figure out where to get the funds you need. Well, there are good ways to borrow money and there are bad ones. Here are some of them.

Avoid PayDay Loans

While a payday loan can seem like a good idea when you need money and need it fast, these loans are actually built to trap people. You have to pay it back within a certain amount of time, and they usually come with a decent sized interest rate that will make it difficult for you to pay it back.

If you don’t get it paid back right away they can go after you for it, maybe even take money directly from your bank account. If you can avoid this type of loan you should. There are other ways to get money when you need it.

Talk To Your Bank

Go to your bank and see if you can get a more traditional loan. You’ll likely get more time to pay it back. You may also be able to negotiate a better interest rate with them than you would at a payday loan place.

Your bank may be more strict when it comes to your credit, however. If you have bad credit and need a quick loan, you may want to do some research online for the best places to go for a loan that will give you the money you need knowing your credit isn’t the best.

Beware Of Borrowing From Friends

You never want to borrow money from someone you want to stay friends with. Borrowing money from friends, and even from family members, can cause rifts in your relationships. Plus, if you don’t pay it back in a timely manner they could get angry at you, even under the best intentions on both sides.

Try Crowdfunding

Instead of borrowing directly from friends and family, you can go about it in a more roundabout way, in which you won’t have to pay anyone back and you can even get money from strangers. Crowdfunding has made it much easier to get help making the money you need, in a certain period of time, and there are a plethora of different crowdfunding sites to go through.

The key here is to make sure people know what you need the money for and that you find some way to appeal to them in a way that makes them want to donate. You also need to share your campaign as much, and in as many places, as possible.
